YOGANIDHI ASHRAM
a spiritual center in the Himalayas

OVERVIEW

Sacchidanandaprem Acharya Swamin has spent many years preparing an ambitious project, a residential ashram based upon the ancient vedic tradition in the Himalayas.
His vision is focused on creating a place where people from around the world can stay for short or long periods and learn transcendentally, without needing to consider the material concerns.  The Ashram will transcend the limiting ideas of creeds, religions and nationality.  Rather, all will be based on universal human values.
Yoganidhi (meaning ‘treasurer of yoga’ is the name of Shiva, the originator of the yogic science) Ashram is a project of the Sacchidanandaprem Organization.  It will provide experiential teaching and activities of higher consciousness, derived from the world’s greatest vedic culture. It will be situated on hundreds of square meters of meadows and forests near Jageshwar Dham, nestled amidst in the hills of Kumaon region, Himalayas.

LOCATION

Jageshwar is located at an altitude of 1,870 meters and 36 kilometers northeast of Almora, Uttarakhand. This is where the Paramshiva’s energy appeared as Linga on Earth as well as it is the origin of Mahamrityunjaya Mantra. The surrounding deodar trees, the Jata Ganga River and the high mountains lend a mesmerizing beauty to this sacred place. In this extraordinary area of the Himalayas, The Saptarishis of the vedic age have developed a collective, cosmically conscious force, dedicating thousands of years to spiritual practices for discovering the sacred truths for humanity.

“The instructive potential seed of Yoganidhi Ashram project was sown by Sri Mahavatar Baba, in my encounter with Him in 2008, in Darjeeling Himalayan hill region. Since then I was keeping patience for a right time and situation, that eventually ended in this October 2018.”
